The castle itself is located on the banks of the river estuary in a truly idyllic location, though this wouldn't have been the reason behind its positioning when they first built the castle. This is a huge fortress and has remained intact in most areas, there are huge passages throughout the castle and underneath in the caverns, roaming around the tunnels with or without a guide is truly great fun. There are also exhibitions and shows taking part on a daily basis; knights having mock fights, jousting tournaments, falconry displays and much more, all of which make for a great family day out in Wales where you will learn all about medieval times and the life they used to live.
