Day out in South Wales - Pembroke Castle

Day out in South Wales

Tuesday, 9 June 2009

If you are planning a day out in South Wales then why not add Pembroke Castle to your list of places to visit. Pembroke Castle is fun for people of all ages with a wide range of shows to see on a daily basis, lots of history to learn on the tours and some stunning views along the estuary.

During July we have various events which include the Black Mountain Falconry display team who offer flying demonstrations with the falcons just as Kings used to do in the medieval times, the Marcher Stuarts allow you to get a feel of what it used to be like to be a mercenary soldier in the 1600's, you can get to see the uniforms and perhaps handle some of the weapons that the swordsmen and musketeers used to use, perhaps you could try on their armour and experience the sheer weight of what they had to endure when going into battle. There are many other daily events, these were just to give you a brief idea of what we have to offer.

If you are a teacher looking for an educational day out in South Wales then Pembroke Castle offers you a fantastic chance to bring your students to a place of historical interest where they can learn and have fun at the same time. We have had many school groups visit our Castle and we can easily arrange each tour to suit different age groups.
